The Alamanda Basketball Club was formed in 2022 and is part of the Altona Bay Basketball Association. The club's primary purpose is to provide as many opportunities as possible for young girls and boys to play and enjoy Basketball. The Club is committed to promoting Basketball, sportsmanship, and team play among children - from beginners through to experienced players. The Alamanda Basketball Club is one of the biggest local junior basketball clubs. Our members’ ages range from 5 to 21 years old, and we have girls' and boys’ teams in each age group. Each season, the Club enters a large number of teams into both the midweek and Saturday competitions, where players play games against other domestic clubs. For the weekly competition, our mixed under-8 and girls’ teams play on Friday evenings, and our boys’ teams play on Monday, and Friday afternoons/evenings and Saturday Mornings. U10 to U14 Boys, Girls, and U16 Girls groups play Saturdays in the Saturday competition. Our Club is made up entirely of volunteers, and we cannot function without support from our parent community. Parents and friends can volunteer as a coach or team manager, and/or join our committee. Our committee meets once a month, and new members are always welcome.
